Error: There is not enough available disk space to run Word (due to low space).
Error:
There is not enough available disk space to run Word.
Cause:
Microsoft Corporation has confirmed this as a known problem.
Solution:
If the system shows that there is enough disk space, the solution is unknown. If there is insufficient disk space, free some space by deleting unused or unnecessary files and/or applications.
1) Check available disk space
NOTE: Following are the minimum disk space requirements for installing and running Office 95: 28 MB for a compact installation, 55 MB for a typical installation, and 89 MB for a custom installation (maximum). Office 95 applications run most efficiently if the computer has at least 8 MB of ram on Windows 95 or 16 MB of ram on Windows NT.
2) If disk space is low, do the following to free up disk space:
a) Back up and delete unneeded files from the drive.
b) Delete unnecessary Windows files.
c) Reduce the amount of disk space reserved for the Recycle Bin.
1] Right-click on the Recycle Bin icon to display the shortcut menu.
2] Select 'Properties' from the shortcut menu.
3] Click the 'Global' tab.
4] Move the slider to the left in the 'Maximum size of Recycle Bin section' to decrease the size of the Recycle Bin. (The percentage of the drive dedicated to deleted files is displayed.)
